There are two main types of radiator valves available: thermostatic radiator valves (TRV) and manual valves. TRVs will automatically adjust the water flow to your radiators to maintain a constant temperature, which means you can always remain comfortable and prevent energy wastage. The flow of water in a manual radiator valve will stay the same until you adjust it. Thermostatic radiator valves are a popular choice as they allow you much more precision over the temperature of individual radiators in your home.
Radiator valves are available in corner, straight and angled shapes. Corner radiator valves are usually used when your radiator pipes are hidden inside a wall. The corner valve allows the water to leave your radiator at a 90-degree angle straight into the wall behind it. Straight radiator valves are used when your heating pipework runs parallel to the radiator. Angled radiator valves are probably the most common type of valve you'll see in the UK. These have a 90-degree bend and are used when the outlets are on the sides of your radiator, and your pipes come straight up from the floor.
As radiator valves are on show, it’s important they look the part. Luckily, we have a fantastic range of styles & finishes on offer so whether you’re looking for traditional chrome or a modern matt black thermostatic valve, you can find the perfect style to complement your radiator.
